PC Repair and Maintenance, Now Your Cup of Coffee

5:23 PM
PC Repair and MaintenanceOften people, especially who don’t know much about hardware and software terms are driven by the fact that computer troubleshooting is a difficult area, and without having proper study and professional education, it is out of the reach of layman. But this is a pure misconception now; however, it was not so in the past. Give the credit to the information highway (Internet) that is omnipresent. But that doesn’t mean that people should underestimate computer technical support experts- they're by and large a very smart bunch of people, who have dared to go through the critical science and technology curriculum to acquire the designation.

Let’s start with basically ‘what you need’ for PC help and maintenance. Forget if you have the perception that it will push you to buy lots of expensive diagnostic hardware and software tools to fix computer. Expensive tools do exist, but that is required by experts at service center possibly to handle with bulk task, and often when there is need to replace damaged part or perform critical repair jobs that include motherboard, CPU, hard-disk, CD-ROM, DVD or other disc drive, fan, Modem, Power supply, Speakers, Monitor etc. Generally, you don’t have to deal with these on regular basis. God forbid that you are confronted with such problems. To fix intermittent issues, you are blessed with built-in Windows repair tools. Almost 95% of the tools are available with the Windows operating system itself. So you don’t have to look out for that.

Let’s try to fix computer problem when it’s not turning on. This is one of the most common PC problems. Whether the machine is totally dead or you are getting nothing on the screen. There can be many causes in the background. Leaving behind the fault with motherboard and CPU, everything is under control, and there is nothing to worry much about. Before taking a leap into troubleshooting process, make sure you've turned on every power switch and power button on your computer. Verify that the power supply voltage switch is set correctly. Take a note of the power cables; they should not be plugged loosely. Replace the computer's power cable, if required. You can try with other power outlets or perform a "lamp test" to make sure that it is working fine. However, if the wall power, power supply, and power button are working, then it indicates that there is some fault with the motherboard.

However, if your screen displays motherboard specifications but could not load the Windows or give “No disk found” related error then things are different. Now, there are two possible causes, the first, a part of the Windows File is corrupted or the ‘BIOS settings’ is inaccurate or there is some fault with the system hard-disk. To fix Windows related issues you can use the Windows Restore Utility available with Microsoft Download Center. Depending upon the Windows version, download the desired patch, and execute that. Sometimes, fault with Windows boot loader can also result into the no boot error. To handle such situations you can make use of the System Recovery Options available with the system software, and use the Command prompt. It also hosts other repair features like Startup repair, System Restore, System Recovery Image, and Windows Memory Diagnostic to resolve other issues.

  1. My husband and I run a small cyber cafe within the busy environs of Margate. Due to heavy use by customers, we constantly have our computers maintained. Our prior firm was starting to charge way too much. We needed a company who would be affordable and also dependable. We decided to contact Data Ninja Services after viewing their website www.dataninjaservices.com and would recommend them to anyone.
